That new little cuddly furball in your family is simply crazy. She is running over here with your socks, over there with napkins, and is basically just playing with whatever she can get her little paws on. In order to make sure that your kitty does not get bored, one of the things that you can do is introduce and take away the cat toys you get for her at random. So, when you give her a new one, take away an old one. Then, when she gets bored with the new one, you could give her the old one back and it will be like new again to her.
